Melissa

If Melissa were on death row her last meal would be: her healthy favorites like nuts, avocado, fish (except anchovies), expensive cheeses, eggs, any fruit, any vegetable, 100% Greek yogurt, Tim Horton's coffee and a glass of full-bodied white or red wine.

Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna College and worked at Harper Hospital in the Detroit Center for 16 years. During her career, she was a clinical Nurse Preceptor and developed the Diabetes Clinical Research Program for the DMC. She also worked part-time as a group fitness professional. After starting her family, she retired from nursing to be home with her children and pursued a career as a fitness professional. She is licensed by IDEA and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and certified in many exercise disciplines. She trained and certified in STOTT® Pilates Mat in 1997 and opened Vandenberg Underground Pilates LLC, a full repertoire STOTT® Pilates Mat and Equipment Studio. In 2009, after teaching pilates for over 12 years, she desired a deeper challenge in fitness and movement and began studying the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®. She has traveled throughout the world and studied with many Specialized Master Trainers and the creator of the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, Juliu Horvath. Melissa is currently a Licensed and Certified Trainer and Pre-Trainer for both the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESES® methodologies and is also a Licensed and Certified Trainer on the GYROTONIC® Jumping-Stretching Board and the GROTONIC® Archway. Her studio, The Movement Center at Vandenberg Underground LLC, is located in Northville, MI.
